Using Pets’ Experiences to Teach Young Children: A Podcast with Susan Stoltz
Monday, March 28th, 2011Susan Stoltz is writing a series of books aimed at children of ages 3-6. The “Sharkey The Dog” series teaches kids through the experience of pets. The first book in the series is “Sharkey Meets Kittyhead.” Listen as Susan describes how she believes the experience of pets can make some concepts more understandable for kids.
For each book in the series an organization benefiting animals will be chosen to receive 50% of all net profits. This decision was made after Sharkey’s overdose by a pharmacist and the realization that the very best thing Sharkey and Susan can do, rather than fight big business and insurance companies, is to be a positive influence and try to help other animals in need. The organization chosen will be featured with a page in the book to give others information about how they can help.
